Hi there, I know I went MIA there a bit. Sorry. But I’m back and ready for this summer, which should be very fun for me if all my cards go right.
First up is more videos, I have a lot of ideas I want to get out thru video so I’m going to try and push that forward.
At the same time as that, I will be launching seven projects that are fresh and way pass due. I’m excited to show them off.
Lastly, I am going to use this site more as my hib of information, as Facebook goes through its growing pains, its a good idea to have a back up that I have more control over.
So this is it, summer 2012, its going to be fun.
SEAN.
I usually don’t care for New Years Resolutions, as most of them are dropped by March of that year. But I thought I would post something to get me to jump start this year.
Rule 1. Get Things Done. Last year was one of the more creative years I have. The problem was that I just didn’t get things done. This year that changes, as I move forward with two major projects and a couple of minor ones. I used to think that they wouldn’t work out, but before the end of the year I actually got confidence that my work is worth doing and I should move on to actually doing it. The projects will be split under two umbrellas which I’ll go more into details later.
Rule 2. When you find something you love to do, try to keep doing it. Last year was also a rough year for me as I try and find full time employment, but I kept running into walls. But I did figure out that I want to work in the field that help me figure out where my skills work the best. So with that I’m going to keep pushing forward and find a way to keep in this non-profit field.
It means that I have to put together a portfolio that will helps me find a slot. But as I said before, my skills aren’t the usual skills in this field, but times are changing. Social media and my skills is becoming one of the things that the Obama administration has push greatly. That is now trickling down to the HIV/AIDS field are becoming very popular as this field moves more into the social media field, with no clue in how any of it works outside of creating a page or account and thinking that if you build it, they will come.
Some are getting it right as time goes by which makes it easier for me to get in, but I need to move quickly as my field is going to heat up the next couple of years.
Rule 3. No more faux guilt and “i cants”. As I am trying to get all of rule 1 and 2 in order, I figure out that I need to cut the distractions in my life, and a lot of them come from having to deal with other peoples issues. I like helping others, but I’m learning slowly that helping others should slow you down. So from this point on I’m going to learn to let others who can only say they can’t to continue to say they can’t. Hopefully if they see me doing what I CAN do, they maybe will go beyond that mentality and start saying I can too. But we’ll see.
Rule 4. Say what you mean, mean what you say. This one is the most important, because I think it might be my mantra of 2012. So before I went on vacation I notice that some things were breaking down between some of my friends, but I decided to stay out of it, as it was there issues and I just don’t have time for that. I believe that was my mistake. I should have never let it get the way that it did. You can’t be Switzerland.
Who the hell wants to be Switzerland?
Because you can’t stand by and not take sides, because people will put you on sides, and I don’t like it when people use me as a pawn and I don’t like it when I get used as a means to an end. So what does that mean? It means that its the end of not saying anything. I am going to say what I mean, and what I say I mean, so there won’t be any more of this distortion that happens when you don’t say anything at all. Speaking of which, my next video will talk all about that, I knew there was a reason I held off on the Friendship video for a reason.
Stay tunes,
Sean
Ok, now I’m annoyed.
